Sarah Schott grew up in Winnipeg — one of the coldest cities in the world, where winter means five months of sub-zero temperatures, near-zero humidity, and sustained wind chill that no skincare product had ever been engineered to address.

After almost a decade living and working in milder climates — including practicing as a medical aesthetician in London, UK — she came home. And that return changed everything.

Sarah holds a diploma in Advanced Clinical Skin Care and Cosmetic Technologies, a Bachelor of Business Administration, and years of clinical practice. It is a rare combination — and it is exactly what Boreal Shield™ required.

Returning home
changed everything.

After almost a decade living abroad — practicing clinical aesthetics in London, UK, and spending time in Kelowna and Vancouver — returning home to Winnipeg was the moment that made Boreal Shield™ inevitable. The cold hit differently after years away. The near-zero humidity. The sustained wind. Five months of conditions she had never treated a single patient for — because no one had built the tools to treat them.

The clinical science was clear. Cold and dry air change how the skin barrier behaves — ceramide synthesis slows, moisture loss accelerates, and the lipid matrix is challenged daily for five consecutive months. Her diploma in Advanced Clinical Skin Care and Cosmetic Technologies gave her the language. Her business degree gave her the framework. Her decade of clinical practice gave her the conviction.
